We often get asked, "Why Trauma Llama?" When we were brainstorming names for our company, we wanted something unique, memorable, and meaningful. Coincidentally, one of our founding members had a rather traumatizing encounter with a llama during his time as a Law Enforcement Officer.

While on patrol, This Deputy was dispatched to assist animal control in capturing an animal causing traffic issues. He arrived quickly and blocked traffic, stepping out to confront a large black llama, whom we'll call Lloyd. The Deputy recognized Lloyd as a repeat offender who had previously spat on him. Determined to avoid a repeat performance, he chased Lloyd out of traffic and tried to approach from behind for a tactical leash deployment. However, when the Deputy attempted to place the leash on Lloyd, he was met with a powerful kick from the creature, sending him flat onto his back. Lying in the dust, with the wind knocked out him, the Deputy realized he had met his match. This wasn't just a common llama But rather a beastly devil kangaroo horse. Adding insult to injury, animal control arrived and quickly leashed Lloyd from the front, making it look easy. The Deputy learned then that llamas could be quite difficult with emphasized disdain for law enforcement. Given that this animal caused so much emotional and physical distress for our brave street warrior, making it our mascot became a tongue-in-cheek reminder of the real-world challenges first responders face. Thus, TRAUMA LLAMA TACTICAL was born to stand for resilience, quick thinking, and facing adversity with humor.
